4People privacy policy

4People · Last updated:

This Privacy policy explains how Lucas Genesses Dias Bittencourt (trade name Lucas Bittencourt), a sole proprietorship registered in Brazil under CNPJ 42.564.890/0001-04, processes personal data in 4People, a web app with free online tools (4people.lucasbittencourt.dev), under the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (Law No. 13,709/2018, "LGPD").

This is a translation. In case of any difference, the Portuguese version prevails. The lucasbittencourt.dev website has a Privacy policy of its own; this one covers only 4People.

2. What 4People does

4People brings together free tools for development, study and work: generators and validators, converters, calculators and networking utilities. Calculations happen in the browser itself: there's no account, no login and no 4People server that receives what you type.

3. Data we process

What you type in the tools

Text, numbers, documents, files and any other content you enter are processed on your device. That content isn't sent to 4People, logged or stored.

Tools that query public services

A few tools need outside data and query a public service directly from your browser:

  • Meu IP (my IP): asks the ipify service (api.ipify.org) for your IP address.
  • Buscar CEP (postal code lookup) and Consulta de Bancos (bank lookup): query BrasilAPI (brasilapi.com.br); the postal code lookup sends the code you typed.
  • Cotação de Moedas (exchange rates): fetches rates from AwesomeAPI (economia.awesomeapi.com.br).
  • Testador de API REST (REST API tester): sends the request you build to the address you enter.

In these cases, the queried service receives the request and your IP address, as with any access over the internet, and follows its own privacy policy.

Storage in your browser

To work offline, 4People keeps copies of its own pages and files in the browser cache (service worker). That cache stays on your device only and doesn't contain what you type.

Hosting technical logs

The provider that hosts 4People records technical data about requests (such as IP address, date and time and the requested address) in the platform logs, for its retention period, for operation and security.

4. Cookies

4People doesn't use cookies: no session, advertising or analytics cookies. It doesn't use visit statistics tools either.

The legal bases are those of article 7 of the LGPD:

  • Running the tools that query public services: performing what you asked for, at your initiative.
  • Security and technical logs: legitimate interest and compliance with legal obligations.

6. Sharing

We don't sell personal data, use it for advertising or pass it on to data brokers. Data is shared only with:

  • Hosting provider: to serve the website.
  • Public services queried (ipify, BrasilAPI and AwesomeAPI): only when you use the tools that depend on them.
  • Public authorities: when required by law or court order.

7. International transfer

The hosting provider and the queried services may process data on servers outside Brazil. These transfers follow article 33 of the LGPD.

8. How long we keep data

  • What you type: not kept.
  • Browser cache: until you delete it by clearing the site's data in your browser settings.
  • Hosting technical logs: for the provider's retention period.

9. Your rights

Under article 18 of the LGPD, you can request confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization, blocking or deletion, portability, information about sharing and withdrawal of consent. Since what you type never reaches a 4People server, there's no data of yours stored to look up or delete besides the technical logs.

To exercise these rights, write to the email above. You can also file a complaint with Brazil's National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).

10. Security

All communication is encrypted (HTTPS), and the tools' content doesn't leave your device, except for the queries described above. The source code is public, so anyone can check what is described here.

11. Children and teenagers

4People doesn't knowingly collect data from children and doesn't ask for any personal data to work.

12. Changes

4People is in beta, and this policy may be updated. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page. See also the 4People End user license agreement (EULA) and the website's Privacy policy.
